With the advancement of the national power grid and the increasing requirements for conductor current-carrying capacity in high-voltage line projects, conductor cross-sections have steadily grown larger. Consequently, the groove-bottom diameters of stringing sheaves have gradually expanded—progressing from 560, 710, 800, and 900 mm to 1000 mm. However, line construction often takes place in mountainous regions characterized by steep slopes, significant elevation differences, and complex terrain. In such environments, large-diameter stringing sheaves present considerable challenges: they are bulky and heavy, difficult to transport, and entail high procurement costs. To address this situation, the development of a compact, lightweight, detachable, and cost-effective multi-wheel combination sheave holds profound significance for Ultra-High Voltage (UHV) construction, representing a revolutionary advancement in construction methodology.
